- _kbh_ 3y agoWhats your point, theres similar marches in Russia too, does that make all of them Nazis?.
- gdy 3y ago"Whats your point" My point is that Nazis in the Ukraine isn't a new thing and you can't justify their position in the Ukrainian society by the ongoing war. They freely marched with torches on the streets of Kiev before anything happened. "theres similar marches in Russia too" Not really, Russian ultra-nationalists are suppressed under Putin, some of their leaders are in jail and their organizations are designated as extremist. There were so called Russian Marches, but no more. "does that make all of them Nazis" Yeah, people marching on the streets with torches and shouting nationalistic and supremacist slogans are nazis, be it in Russia or Ukraine. Doubly so if they carry the portraits of Nazi collaborators and perpetrators of genocide. Slogans 'Ukraine above all' don't help either.
- _kbh_ 3y ago> Not really, Russian ultra-nationalists are suppressed under Putin, some of their leaders are in jail and their organizations are designated as extremist. There were so called Russian Marches, but no more. My brother in christ, the head of the main PMC in Russia has Nazi symbols tattooed on him and named his PMC after Hitlers favourite composer. Nazis aren't suppressed under Putin, they are actively hired by the government.

- _kbh_ 3y ago> Wagner may be run by a nazi, but then it's a closeted nazi who doesn't advertise his views You know the reason we know of this is because we have a photo of his tattoos right?. A person tatted up with Nazis symbols isn’t exactly a ‘closeted’ Nazi.
- gdy 3y agoI've just used google image search and haven't seen any tattoos.
- _kbh_ 3y agoThen you're not trying very hard. https://twitter.com/JJansaSDS/status/1498596035664429056 https://twitter.com/JJansaSDS/status/1498596035664429056
- gdy 3y agoOops, I didn't google Utkin specifically. But back to my point, you can see his tattoos only because someone dug out a photo of him and shared it on the internet. Not because he was marching bare-chested on the streets of Moscow on Hitler's birthday carrying a torch and shouting 'Glory to Russia!'. Even if he wanted to, he wouldn't do that because that would not be accepted by Russian society or by Kremlin. That's the difference with the Ukraine.
