This can’t be more than marketing for their display division. Maybe you would take this into a clients office for a demo instead of a projector? Maybe you really liked back when you had that trolly with the projector and laptop bags stacked on top of each other? It was fun to lug that around, right?
I haven’t seen a boardroom without a huge screen and all kinds of input options for years. I also notice that people happily watch IMAX stuff on their phones.
- eternityforest 3y agoIf the cost was similar this would be the obvious choice of display just for the ability to put it away without risking damage or needing to disassemble. It would be ok for a bedroom TV, because people might have dressers that might have enough space to accommodate it. It would be great for trade show like environments, if you want something bigger than a tablet on a stand (Although a tablet on a stand is probably good enough and way more convenient...). Maybe it would have been better if it was a 17 inch instead of 27, so it could fit on a desk and be a second monitor better.
- m463 3y agoIf you work remote, being able to travel is a big deal. But it's hard to set up somewhere with a decent setup. I can see this being part of a really usable remote work setup.
