8-year-old boy upends 100 years of science regarding insects and plants
- rektide 3y agoGreat story. Ending has one last notable comment, wow: > "We are only beginning to understand the complexity of plant-insect interactions," said Deans. "There is still so much more to learn." > When asked if he wants to be an entomologist like his dad when he grows up, given that he's already made his first scientific discovery, Hugo says "not really. I want to be different ... unique ... when I grow up."
- ftxbro 3y agoNot to say that you require this kind of background to upend 100 years of entomology science at eight years old, but > "Hugo's father is Andrew Deans, professor of entomology at Penn State."
- ALittleLight 3y agoIt may be more like you need a professor of entomology around to notice what a child's curiosity is pointing to, in order to upend 100 years of entomology.
- runsonrum 3y agoI'm not sure about this. I've played all the way though Grounded and didn't witness this behavior at all. (Joking, of course)
- dustymcp 3y agoIts such a fun game :)
