- LinuxBender 3y agoSummary from blancolirio: Incapacitated pilot and family flew on autopilot above the Washington FRZ triggering the scrambling of 6 F-16's. Cause of incapacitation unknown. No response from pilot on radio or after flares from the initial 2 F-16's that intercepted. Aircraft eventually ran out of fuel and crashed in the mountains after auto-course correction returning to take-off point. No additional action take by F-16's. Other sites will eventually have more data. Sonic booms heard over DC were the F-16's operating at maximum speed to intercept.
