I have been patiently waiting for a feature for versions but now I don't think they are going to do it - ability to control the notification (alert/ringing) settings of both the SIMs separately.
I mean how dense or arrogant people at Apple have to be grok that by design if someone is using two different SIMs on a phone the use cases and needs might be different. Android has given this feature since a century by now. Or I think it's just their incompetence. Seeing how Apple is at software I won't put past them that they might have implemented this whole thing in such a way that just adding this feature might mean a major rewrite.
I mean for heaven's sake I might have a SIM that attracts a lot of spam call/etc and I might just want to keep it perpetually on silent or sometimes silent - yeah just silent not entirely disable it (but just that SIM, not my other important SIM).
By the way they have mentioned filtering on the Messages app based on SIM but even their they have not mentioned anything about notifications. Yup they mentioned it twice (at least to me it seems the same):
> Dual SIM message filtering
> Filter conversations in Messages by individual SIM.
and then right next to it:
>SIM-based filtering
>Messages now allows users with a dual SIM iPhone to filter messages based on their SIMs.
So maybe I will still not be using the dual SIM of the dual SIM phone.
How many years will it take it to get to Apple's head that these are two different SIMs!
- aikinai 3y agoI haven't installed the beta yet so don't know details, but I saw a mention on Reddit that you can now have two different ringtones at least.
- crossroadsguy 3y agoWell that honestly is a relief. I will see if I can set a muted ringtone Though I seriously doubt Apple will allow someone to set a custom ringtone. I haven’t checked it.
