if you go with an AMD Zen 4 Epyc server unit you still only get 12 "CPU memory channels" with M2 Ultra (or M1 Ultra) the equivalent of 16 "CPU memory channels"
don't matter for many applications but for some
and the it's a server unit you are buying not a prosumer desktop (with a ryzen CPU you get 2 channels, threadripper 4 channels and 8 with a threadripper pro)
