Every time I think of home automation I almost go for it, but upon second thought I realize this means adding an entire tech stack that I will have to maintain to what's basically a couple of switches. Having my windows, lights or thermostat break on updates is something I don't need.
- jackdh 3y agoTo provide another point of view, I've had a simple light & fan connected to Google Home for the last couple of years. Since connecting it to Google from their own app's I've not needed to go back / update them since.
