Wow… I thought adults worked for Raspberry Pi. Most childish stuff I’ve seen. They could use the money for other things instead of employing that garbage social media team
- vardump 3y agoCan't see it right now (Cloudflare error), so could you expand a bit, please? Edit: Ok, I found an earlier discussion on HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33907982 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=33907982 "Rasperry Pi hires former police surveillance officer as Maker in Residence" My first impression is that this is just a big nothingburger.
- shultays 3y ago"Childish people working at Raspberry Pi" part was about the twitter thread, how Pi announces such hire and how it handles the replies. Pi announces an old surveillance officer is hired for the project (his old work is apparently unrelated to his new role), some people (warranted or not) raises eyebrows, social media guys at Pi handles the situation in a very childish manner
- vardump 3y agoOk, well, I was unable to load https://archive.ph/AM8OA https://archive.ph/AM8OA.
- _ea1k 3y agoYeah, the "Oh no, he was a police officer" type responses are far worse than the Pi team's response. They should have been more judicious at figuring out who to ignore, but that seems like a trivial thing to get upset over.
- lnxg33k1 3y agoI've read the article about the increase in child labour yesterday, but it didn't say they also were being employed as Social media managers
