No, I'm saying that you need to be aware of any and all propaganda.
There's a meme out there that shows North Koreans being force fed propaganda. Meanwhile, Americans voluntarily ingest propaganda.
It's not far off from the truth.
In order to get a balanced view, readers of FT.com should also read more pro/neutral-China news sources.
- manuelabeledo 3y agoAre you suggesting that North Korean media outlets are as free and impartial as American ones? That is a hot take if I have ever seen one. FT does not have a track of bashing China, and Japanese media outlets are not controlled and editorialized by the Japanese government. It would also be absurd to balance what FT says by consulting pro-China sources, because even if FT was indeed filled with Japanese propaganda, what good would come from comparing it to Chinese propaganda?
- senttoschool 3y agoMedia does not need government control to be bias and spilling propaganda.
- manuelabeledo 3y agoYou still need some proof that such thing is happening with FT. Your original point also was: > I believe they're backed by the Japanese - who themselves feel threatened by China's economic rise. So, who are "the Japanese" in this context? The whole country of Japan? Is the whole country "biased" too?
