I keep hearing about this but I just don't see how its going to happen. Russia is essentially finished if not now, then definitely due to their demographic collapse. People thought China was the next big empire to take on the US but after their ongoing real estate collapse, the ongoing failure of belt and road, and their eventual population bomb leading to a demographic collapse that is probably worse than Russia how can anyone see them overtaking the US? Originally I thought that maybe China can make up for its woes by way of immigration and assimilation with Bent and Road 'colonies' but having traveled to one of their closeest B&R partners(Pakistan) recently, none of their partners are in a good position themselves to help China out. Plus I don't think China is really open to immigration. In the end I suspect the 'friendships' with China will last only as long as the money keeps rolling in. Who else is left on this planet that could take on the US? India? EU? Both have serious flaws that limit their reach.
