Singapore executes a dozen people per year. Trafficking, not consumption results in the death penalty. If that is barbaric, do you know that a hundred people per day in the US die of opioid overdoses? How many people are in prison for drug related crimes in other developed countries? How many families are ruined by drugs? Singapore has made its rules clear, these punishments aren't arbitrary. If you bring drugs into a country that will sentence you to death for it, something the population supports, that's not barbarism on part of Singapore, it's just reckless crime.
