"Best" depends what attribute your optimising. For me, "best" is being entirely independent of an ongoing operational cost which I can't control. I'm covering my entire roof in solar panels and buying the biggest battery I can afford. Being able to "fuel" my vehicle without ongoing third-party involvement, and with an absolute minimum of moving parts (reducing servicing costs), is important. I do take the point that's not the attribute most people are optimising for.
