- inkblotuniverse 3y agoThe terminator won't, it's fictional. If AI killed everyone, it probably wouldn't happen like a hollywood movie. Climate change is subject to way more unhinged hysteria, as well! Won't doom the species, though.

- xg15 3y agoSeems somewhat obvious to me when the people who are giving the gravest warnings are the same who actively developing the things they are warning of.
- throwuxiytayq 3y agoStrictly false. The people giving the gravest warnings are the same people who have been giving them for years or decades, and they’re not affiliated with OpenAI etc.

- zug_zug 3y agoIt’s weird to read an article like this. The concept of the AI apocalypse long predates big tech: terminator, Turing, the Wikipedia article, and my personal philosophy since childhood. I’m sure there are some bad actors, but seems dismissive.
