How would negative assertions work for something like Twitter? Are you checking that they do not own a Twitter account or are you checking that they do not own Twitter?
- yellowapple 3y agoI'd assume the former. I can see that being pretty handy to assert e.g. "anyone claiming to be me on Twitter is lying".
- oh_sigh 3y agoProbably the former. So positively asserted @jack on Instagram can assert that he is not @jack on Twitter if the Twitter user is trying to claim to be the Instagram @jack.
- themoonisachees 3y agoNegatively asserting ownership of something has very few ways to be used maliciously. The only scenario i can think of is pretending you aren't the guy spewing racist shit on twitter when in reality you are but even that has very limited impact and is quite contrived
