Francis Ford Coppola Predicting The Future At 1979 Oscars (50 SEC video)
- rmason 3y agoI thought Coppola was pretty darned prescient. Meanwhile Ali McGraw is standing there wondering why he has gone off script and what is he talking about?

- WheelsAtLarge 3y agoThe late 70's was abuzz with talk about the coming communications revolution. Teachers used to recommend that students should look to computers and such for future careers. It's also about the time Star Wars was released which had game changing computer special effects. As a director he was in the middle of all this buzz so I'm sure what he saw was eye opening and he was able to make some conclusions from it. Good for him that he said something. He was 100% right.
- richardjam73 3y agoWhat computer special effects are in Star Wars?
- WheelsAtLarge 3y ago" What is generally little known: STAR WARS Episode 4 from 1977 actually featured one of the first three-dimensional CGI scenes in film history. A forty-second sequence with the Death Star. All the other special effects were handmade and were convincing because they were seamlessly integrated into the story." https://cleverclipstudios.com/en-ch/blog/star-wars-and-the-curse-of-cgi/ https://cleverclipstudios.com/en-ch/blog/star-wars-and-the-c... It was a big deal at the time. The late 70's was when CGI started to take a hold in movie making. It was primitive compared to today but effective.
