I've had 0 issues with pis (system of 50-ish pis running sensors, signage and video running 24x7 for 2+ and 3+ years) that are running on the industrial SD cards and booting into overlay filesystem.

What's your preferred industrial SD card?

  Sandisk industrial 16GB. I was skeptical when I first tried them. I figured it would be too tempting a target for counterfeiters-- source the cheapest SDs available, screen the sandisk logo on them and sell on amazon for $12/each. Fingers crossed -- so far, so good.
