Sure, everyone pays taxes. I'm pretty well set and I'm still not sure I'll ever pay enough in taxes to cover one of those famous US hospital bills. Then again, it should be matter of at least a majority agreement that things like that should be paid from taxes, and it's obvious that in the US the agreement is not there.
