Wow. This is tragic. "Eat bitterness" while the government gets all that tuition fee. Time for a revolution!
- jfengel 3y agoI don't think that "Eat bitterness" sounds the same to Chinese ears as it does to ours. Not that it's fun, but I gather that it means something closer to "persevere" or "endure". More like you'd see on a motivational poster about not giving up.
- malshe 3y agoIs it something like "suck it up" but more formal?
