The way they've done the Mac releases makes no sense to me. I like the regularity of iPhone releases, if I want to upgrade I can look at what is released in September. With the Mac releases they're all over the place.
- vosper 3y agoScuttlebutt (aka mac rumour articles) mostly now say end of this year or sometime next year for M3.
- wmf 3y agoI think this is due to time-sharing a single development team among all the Mac models. The M2 was ready before the M1 Extreme was released and M3 may follow right behind the last M2 Macs.
- icedchai 3y agoI'm guessing we'll see M3 near the end of this year. It was roughly 1.5 years from M1 to M2, and M2 was only released last summer. Some of their machines (iMac 24", Mac Studio) are still on the M1 line. Others, like the Air, still offer the M1 option.
