I met Matt several times in the 2005-2008 time frame. He impressed me as a low key guy committed to playing a long game by providing value to his customers, partners, and employees. He strikes me as principled and acting with integrity. Meeting him was one of the key reasons we adopted WordPress in 2006 as the platform for our websites. Gutenberg can still be an error in judgement his part and as a key element of WordPress strategy. I can have enormous respect for his business ethics and still think in one aspect of his business he has made a mistake.
