My big takeaway was personal productivity is moot in organizations unless the organization adopts the same methods and processes to be productive.

Things that took me, alone, 6 months at a smaller company now baloon out to a year and require a team because of all the overhead. I truly believe the large corporation needs to die on the scrap heap of history for our society and culture to recover.
- nuancebydefault 3y agoCould you be more specific? If you have done the same or very similar task before, I guess it would be better that you would take up the task rather than said team?
- throwway120385 3y agoIt's just that if you have 6 people all responsible for different parts of a decision, like the control board for a product, you now have to get all of those people to buy in to the decision. And some of those people take months to even know what decision to make, or they have a pet supplier who takes forever to deliver, and then your project eats the delay because of that. So you wind up sitting on your hands and adjusting your schedule not because you weren't ready but because someone else isn't.
