“Should we automate away all the jobs, including the fulfilling ones? Should we develop nonhuman minds that might eventually outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us? Should we risk loss of control of our civilization?” The answer is yes. If machines can produce, distribute, & maintain the resources, environment, and infrastructure around us arguably this is a benefit and allows a way forward for more and more people to have free time to explore interests, relationships, and participate in democracy.
