I’m not passionate when it comes to delivering work at my paid job. I have opinions, but don’t care if the rest of the team wants to go another way. I make myself heard, and move on. I think that’s a perfectly fine way to make a living. On the other hand, I’m very passionate about my personal projects and how and why I work on them. But I’ve found that a health dose of “I don’t care” actually keeps the wheels moving, rather than get stuck in an endless cycle of revisiting technical choices, design etc. Not being a passionate developer ≠ being bad at your job.
