Why Are Food Prices So High in Europe?
- jleyank 3y agoCompared to 2019 they’re pretty high in n America as well.
- bell-cot 3y agoModest Proposal: Just as governments in the Days of Yore had their own armories, arsenals, and shipyards, to ensure a ready supply of quality weapons, ammunition, & warships, modern governments should operate substantial food-supply infrastructure. Have it managed by people who grew up rather poor (to at least cut down internal greed), and run it at a fixed 10% profit margin (to undercut the angry protests of greedy capitalists). Then, if food prices go up, it might be fairly obvious which corporations are profiteering, and by how much.
