We (me and co-authors) recently published a study in which we found some examples of real-world harm in user reviews of IoT devices (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1574119223000445 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S157411922...). These devices are supposed to be extremely pervasive in the future, hence we need to do better to ensure their safety.
