This article was strange to read. The author seems surprised that people with obesity don't want to undergo permanent, organ-changing surgery, and that doctors don't want to perform permanent, organ-changing surgery on their patients. Not to mention over a month of recovery time. Not many Americans these days can afford that kind of time off of work. And yet the author presents the 4-6 weeks of recovery time as inconsequential? The lack of empathy is jarring.
