US Updates National AI Strategy and Calls for Public Input
- sylware 3y agoIf a country/organization builds a super AI several orders of magnitude above a human brain (maybe self-aware), does manage to keep it under its control (with a bazillion of big red buttons to kill it, literaly) and makes it work for its own interests. Mmmmmh... That would require a gigantic, GIGANTIC, data center dedicated to the neural net and its real time inputs/outputs, not to mention the massive facilities right next to it. For instance the ones to perform the R&D driven by the super AI (it will need inputs/outputs of experiments beyond human understanding). Will very probably require its own nuclear plant. Oh, and it would hijack chip foundries for a good while to build its evolving silicium design iterations (MK I, MK II, etc). This will have to be built one day before human extinction, if human sciences/maths have nothing to save us.
