I don't personally have much use for a "10 hours of nothing" video, but I do find tremendous utility in the "10 hours of blizzard noises and crackling fireplace" or "10 hours of rain and thunderstorm noises" and what-have-you. I find that kind of background noise very soothing and it helps me fall asleep at night. It's a rare night I head off to sleep without one of those tracks playing on my phone.
- version_five 3y agoI sleep badly and I found that anything I play on my phone doesn't hand enough "depth" - whatever you'd call it - to really cover external noises. I bought a (mechanical) white noise machine, which is better, but I found that runnjng the HVAC fan was much better still because (I assume) the ducts create a much more deep and filling sound that properly overwhelms other stuff you'd hear. It's not about the volume, but the frequency response somehow.
