Influencer marketing on social media is a multi-billion-dollar industry
- Fricken 3y agoThe tweens these days all want to be YouTube influencers when they grow up. I know a guy who's living that dream. He started his channel when in high school playing Steep Steep, snowboarding video game. He went viral when he broke his collar bone attempting to pull a double backflip on skis in real life. Now he gets 1.5 million views for his more popular videos, and is paid to trot the globe to cover various winter sports events and to promote various ski resorts, and made about $120k over the last year. Not bad for a 23 year old who dropped out of university to do his YouTube channel. It's funny, he's an articulate and well put together young man in real life, in stark contrast to his YouTube personality in which he acts like a bombastic doofus. He knows his audience and it's not me.
