- jleyank 3y agoI did not see: publish. Ideally publish something good but posters and the like won’t get cited. Code or papers are real. Do independent work before tenure, and collaborate as you wish afterwards. Helpers don’t get tenure. (Somehow) figure out how to get funding. The bean counters love funding. Grad students don’t like teaching. Be visible, and don’t be an asshole before tenure.
