I'd like it to fit with my worldview because I think I'm smart and I make typos no matter how many times I proofread, both just hitting the wrong key and their / their type stuff which I find particularly embarrassing.
Bottom line though, if you're presenting yourself to someone else professionally, you have to find a way to overcome your shortcomings. If you read a book or a persuasive article or whatever that was filled with mistakes, would you just think "oh yeah, they were focused on getting their message out" or would you wonder why it wasn't proofread?
This came up in another recent discussion. It's rare to hire for smart, because it's not desirable. Polish is important
Get a type A friend to proofread.
