This is a hard "No".
Yes, I am irked when people don't proofread an email, even one sent from their mobile device, by re-reading it back to themselves. This is _indeed_ acceptable when someone is already on the team (reference any Executive), in fact, you'd be a sure arseh0l3 if you called this out all the time or judged someone based on this alone _after they are on-boarded_.
A document (CV / resumé) you spent serious time on (hopefully!) to try and represent your professional-self in the best possible way (marketing), AND English is not a second language for you? Immediate deletion if you choose the wrong their/there/they're or any other horrible, horrible facet of the English language.
Sure, English is a joke language that should drive anyone towards indignation, in the long run, no one cares, etc.
Exceptions exist, for sure (and I've made them!), but this isn't something to advocate for? You can't expect a human to be 100% all the time (unless you are some sort of sociopath serial CEO), it isn't that. It absolutely isn't about criminalizing mistakes, that's the path toward stagnation and a culture of fear.
It _IS_ about "this person took the time to proofread, elect assistance perhaps, though ultimately, put great thought and care into their election to try and join my team". It isn't about studying l33tc0d3 (or however the kids spell it), knowing all the latest and most prominent stacks, etc.
It _IS_ about seeing the problem statement or challenge (interested in joining, or seeing if they are a fit for me) and putting _care_ into that effort.
