EU Digital Identity Wallet
- jruohonen 3y agoA lot of disinformation about this initiative flowing around. I hope they succeed; it would greatly improve both citizens' and businesses' life when moving from a member state to another. That said, there are some legitimate concerns (e.g., regarding prepaid SIM cards and the initiative's connection to EHDS, which contains some serious privacy issues).
- rvz 3y ago> A lot of disinformation about this initiative flowing around. Such as what?
- jruohonen 3y agoAt least here there is a lot of conspiracy theorists spouting misleading information about "digital ID". I don't know from where it is coming exactly but seems to be related to this "WEF movement".
- rvz 3y agoDo you have exact examples or links of these 'conspiracy theorists' spouting misleading information about "digital ID" that is in relation to the WEF movement that is proven to be 'disinformation'? Can you show any direct links to this?
- jruohonen 3y agoGo search Twitter. There is probably some variation in terms of local languages. There was also a consultation for the EU's digital wallet here and it gathered a lot of conspiracy stuff, which, indeed, was false information. Here, I use the term "disinformation" as a catch-all, although probably everyone agrees by now that the term is vague and somewhat misguided. As for WEF, they've published some articles on digital ID, which from a quick look are mostly sensible but quite light-weight policy analysis.
- rvz 3y ago> Go search Twitter. There is probably some variation in terms of local languages. That is not how this works. I'm assuming you have these exact sources since you have brought up the original claim. So the burden of proof is on you to give those exact links that specifically shows that it is indeed 'disinformation' since that is what you have continued to claim. So I'll ask again: Can you give links to these exact examples and sources in regards to these "'conspiracy theorists' spouting misleading information about "digital ID" and is indeed 'disinformation' and what exactly are the 'claims' that they are making that is in relation to the WEF movement?
- jruohonen 3y agoRight. These games from people who surely know how to use the Internet. https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=digital+id+wef+twitter&cat=web&pl=ext-ff&language=english https://www.startpage.com/do/dsearch?query=digital+id+wef+tw...
- rvz 3y agoAssuming you have looked at all these tweets, you believe that it is proven to be 'disinformation'? Is this what you are just showing me? What exactly are the 'claims' that these 'conspiracy theorists' are making that is in relation to the WEF movement about digital identity wallet that it is indeed marked as 'disinformation'? Exact links to tweets this time. Not a random 'Go search on Twitter' link since the burden of proof is still on you.
- jruohonen 3y agoLet's stop this "discussion". The WEF has been a target of conspiracy theorists for a long time. It's an elite agenda-setter group, sure, but its power in world affairs is still quite limited. It can be criticized on legitimate grounds and it has also failed at its PR. As for the EU, somehow these theories have amalgamated also to public perception on the e-ID and eIDAS.
