What was the overall point of the talk?
I get the sense that the talk was meant as a rebuttal to something, but I'm not exactly sure what. Some of the points come off as disconnected.

- idlewords 3y agoThat's correct, this talk was given back when nerds were reading his book and scaring themselves silly.
- _Nat_ 3y agoGot it: ["Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superintelligence:_Paths,_Dangers,_Strategies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superintelligence:_Paths,_Dang... ), by Nick Bostrom (2014). Guess I saw the title, "Superintelligence: An idea that eats smart people", and thought of it as being about that general topic (of superintelligence), rather than being about a specific book.
