    Yes. I suppose there should be some minimal rules (no politics, no religion etc) but otherwise people would be free to create whatever they want to. There was an article on HN few weeks ago, about a Russian open source programmer. He was going through tough times in his personal life, while also taking abuse from users of his project. People who were paying him nothing, while also abusing him online. If I had the money, I’d like to support people like him. Same goes for people who make educational materials, books etc without expecting anything in return.
