Because by the looks of https://github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/blob/7c478bd95313f5f23a4c958a745db2134aa03244/usr/src/cmd/csh/sh.lex.c https://github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/blob/7c478bd95313f5f... the C shell was fixed years ago.
