- HyperSane 3y agoMaybe to avoid them? The halal method of killing an animal is cruel.
- toxicdevil 3y agoOne can argue that all traditional non-organic farming is cruel. Esp. pork farms just google "pork puss".

- cbeach 3y agoYes, precisely that. Also, "Halal" is a means to gain religious supremacy/monopoly in the food sector. Only Muslims are permitted to work in Halal abatoirs.

- toxicdevil 3y agoHalal food is much like Kosher, with a just a few differences. For meat, essentially, if it is Kosher then it is also halal. There are a couple of existing apps to find halal restaurants or even stores, but they have outdated info and very few restaurants even in big cities. Another issue is that different people have different meaning of halal, conservatives have a very strict standard. e.g. Some wont eat regular cheese if it is made using rennet from non-halal sources (much like strict vegetarians).
