Can you talk about your motivation and how it works?
- nsesites 3y agoAbsolutely - thank you for the kind words! I'm a father of 2 young kids & I love building side projects. So about a year ago, started working on this site to solve my own problem, which was finding things to do with my kids on the weekends. When I searched on GoogleMaps & Yelp, it would only give me results by places. But I wanted to search all activities in a particular location (city, county). So in the searchbar, if you type in your zipcode/city/county - you can see all "Places" or "Photos" in that location. And then just filter down by Category (e.g. Indoor Playcenters, Swimming Pools, Parks, etc). I felt like this was a much cleaner & simpler experience to discover kids activities. Hopefully it's helpful to other parents out there as well. As for Tech Stack, I just built it with Plain Vanilla HTML + CSS + PHP + SQL.
