- jqpabc123 3y agoThey list 5 benefits of U2F but only two of these are unique: Easier to use than traditional 2 factor authentication. No retyping of one-time codes involved. So basically, this is just 2FA but with an expensive, specialized device to save you the difficult task of generating and typing a 6 digit code. *Pro Tip: Some 2FA apps will put the code into the clipboard so you can just paste it.* What happens if you lose/break the device? They have an easy solution for this too --- another expensive, specialized device as a backup. Double the cost just to be safe.
