I think it looks ~shit~ not to my liking. Why? Because the old one looked friendly and the new one looks fierce. This tendency is a disease with many objects nowadays. Cars especially. Everything and everybody wants to look angry and dangerous. And that's not a good thing.
- mongrelion 3y ago> Everything and everybody wants to look angry and dangerous. > I think it looks shit > And that's not a good thing.
- scoutt 3y agoAfter 10 maybe 15 years of "cute" logos and mascots, I welcome this change.
- JohnFen 3y agoI just don't really enjoy everything looking like it's about to attack me.
- Tepix 3y ago> I think it looks shit. Is there really no middle ground? It's either great or shit? Your comment sounds quite angry, is it the effect of the new logo influencing you? /s
- 2-718-281-828 3y agookay, okay, it's not shit. it's unbeautiful
- cubefox 3y agoYeah, I'm surprised most people here are so positive about it. Why would we want an angry logo? Also, the new logo is heavily inspired by the Firefox logo, with the flamey tail. Which doesn't make sense, as Thunderbird has nothing to do with fire.
- 2-718-281-828 3y ago> Thunderbird has nothing to do with fire maybe it's supposed to be evocative of pheonix from greek mythology - rising from the ashes. just checked the current firefox logo. i'd say it's neutral with regard to its mood - the eyes in the thunderbird logo set the tone.
- cubefox 3y agoMaybe the bird is angry because thunder sounds kind of like an angry noise.
- 2-718-281-828 3y agoso it's an angry mail client to begin with
- 0x0000000 3y ago> maybe it's supposed to be evocative of pheonix from greek mythology - rising from the ashes. Before Firefox was Firefox it was Firebird, and before that, it was Phoenix.
- Narushia 3y agoI like the new logo, but hadn’t thought about the fire theme. Maybe they should’ve went for a more thunder-y, angular shape for the bird’s tail to better reflect the name?
- iakov 3y agoI agree with you! The new logo looks outright predatory. I liked the old one more.
- Tao3300 3y agoI think it's supposed to look like it's aggressively protecting the egg.
