Ask HN: How to Provide Value for Cloners?
My company's project (BrowserBox) consistently gets dozens of git clones per day. I've never adding tracking / analytics to my projects (because laziness, fear of doing it wrong and hurting users, and because it's a security / privacy product). Most of our revenue has come from organic inbound emails from people who have seen or heard of our work and needed to license it for their companies, but I think there's lots of opportunity to provide extra value for people who clone our repos.
Any ideas for how you would want to be treated, or what you would do to serve cloners better?
