When I was learning to code I figured out a difficult problem using recursion without any knowledge of what recursion was, I remember being happy and thought I was a genius for a short time. Whenever something ‘clicks’ and you get that dopamine the best part of coding.
- JohnFen 3y agoI don't know what counts as "genius", but coming up with that on your own, with little development experience, is at least brilliant.
- qup 3y agoThe first recursion I put into production is a good memory for me. I wore a big smile that day. It was a routine to discover all the ancestors of a category, to create a breadcrumb navigation for a web directory. I believe it's still in production, although the site has been re-skinned so it's hard to say for sure.
