Don't need to persist after a page refresh, shouldn't be shared, confusingly pollute browser history and benefit from instant loading. I mostly agree with the author in their examples. If it walks like a page and it talks like a page, it probably should be a page. No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater otherwise.
