I would also recommend picking a system with a sizable pool of options. Naming my computers after the planets seemed like a fine idea, until you start living with someone and start adding Raspberry Pis and other devices around the home. Eight planets didn't quite cut it, and now I have an odd mix of mythological characters.
- gleenn 3y agoMaybe name the little Pis after moons? Seems fitting somehow and they keep finding more too!
- aquova 3y agoMy system was to have the machines be the planets, and then their drives would be the moons. It made it easy to remember which drives would be available on a given machine. However, it was also a problem when I wanted to add a second drive to Mercury and didn't have any options...
- vikingerik 3y agoYou could use spacecraft that have visited Mercury, which would get you up to three at least.

- EvanAnderson 3y agoI used Jovian moons at one site because I knew it would be likely I’d get more names later. >smile<
