20 years ago I was in college and worked as a bank teller. Because of the PATRIOT Act, we had a new mandate to check a person's ID before letting them deposit a check. I would get so irritated that all the "old people" would gripe every time because "I've been banking here my whole life and have never had to show my ID to deposit my paycheck!" Sadly, it didn't occur to me at the time that they had a really good point.
