>In 2019, Levandowski was indicted on 33 federal charges of alleged theft of self-driving car trade secrets. In August 2020, Levandowski pled guilty to one of the 33 charges, and was sentenced to 18 months in prison.
>He was pardoned less than six months later on January 20, 2021, the last day of Donald Trump's presidency.
- boringg 3y agoI forgot he got pardoned. Trump presidency: if you have money you could use that money to literally buy a get out of jail card.
- sebzim4500 3y agoIt's not just Trump, democrats have done similar things in the past. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton_pardon_controversy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Clinton_pardon_controvers... especially Marc Rich
- boringg 3y agoI know - its the brashness, level of ease and amount of pardons by the Trump presidency that makes it different. Not that it isn't done by other parties.

- propogandist 3y agothe puppet in office that needs direction on where to walk and how to talk. Also, no questions allowed.
- lesuorac 3y agoEffectively yes. But a federal pardon is for federal crimes. So if a state such as New York convicted you then a presidential pardon won't save you.
