It would be amazing if everyone decided they would make their lives intentionally harder by biking and walking and using buses in places that have been designed to be completely antagonistic to all of those activities. I've never seen that happen anywhere though. People almost always follow the default. What could happen is governments could invest in making cities walkable, bikable, transit-able by default and people would naturally follow. Even that is a big ask at this point due to extreme sprawl, but it's the only way it's going to happen.
