All words are made up. Most of them have meaning. Some of them are contextually misleading, and some are contextually assaulting. For example, shouting the words, "Fuck God" in the middle of church would be considered an assault on the congregation. Calling a non-binary person a "Man" would be considered an assault on that person. Many of us secularists and atheists would very much like to leave the shadow of religious organizations. We can't do so without openly confronting the reality of those religious organizations and their power over our lives. For that confrontation, we use words.
