Setting all the morality and ethics discussions aside, after so many of these stories, I made a mental note not to buy any HP printer ever again, just because there seems to be so much complexity and unexpected trouble.
It's just easier to buy, say, a Brother printer and forget about it for many years (and I speak from experience here). I don't need printer drama in my life.
- thiht 3y agoI bought a Brother printer (inkjet) last year, or maybe the year before. When I need it it invariably works. This is not a lot to ask, yet it's the only printer I've ever had that... behaves? It has one job and does it well.
- gtop3 3y agoI've had very good luck with purchasing printers that are marketed towards small business instead of families. Take a peak at what printer your optometrist is using and ask one of the staff how they like the printer. Tactics like this is how I find my printers.
- thiht 3y agoThat’s a great idea! I’ll keep it in mind for my next printer (in 20 years or so hopefully, given that will happy with mine :D) or other stuff
- hotpotamus 3y agoThat's my stance on HP products as a whole. One of the weirder stories I ever heard was from our DCops at one place that said they found trash/debris in HP servers that came in a factory-sealed box (the example I was told was small plastic bags). And essentially every HP product has caused me pain somehow or another, so they will never get any dollars that I have a say over.
