PSA: When you sign up for a subscription service you're telling the company they should keep doing what they're doing. What they're doing is repeatedly taking (often small) steps to degrade your rights and give themselves more power over you & your wallet. If you give them an inch, they'll take the piss. (I am not suggesting that OP or anyone else getting screwed on a subscription thing are in the wrong.)
